Lill "Missy" Searl
Lill “Missy” Searl is the Executive Director of the Period Equity Alliance Society and the Provincial Coordinator of the Nurturing Strong African Nova Scotian Families (NSANSF) parenting program. Her career spans decades of impactful work in community development, entrepreneurship, and adult education; locally, nationally and internationally.
She has held leadership roles with organizations such as CEED, Cecilia Concerts, Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, and the Association of Workplace Educators of Nova Scotia (AWENS).
In 2020, she founded L Searl Virtual Consulting Services, authoring DEIA curriculum, creating small business programs, and delivering “Neurodiversity in the Workplace” workshop in ‘First Voice’ to hundreds of employees across Nova Scotia and beyond, in her role as Project Consultant with Ashanti Leadership & PDS Inc. . In 2025, Missy took the TEDx stage at TEDxArgyleSt in Halifax.
Over the past 20 years, Missy has delivered workshops and presentations to audiences across Nova Scotia and internationally. From parenting programs to small business training to DEIA curriculum, she has engaged with a wide range of diverse groups. She also holds Instructional Skills Workshop certification, further enhancing her expertise as a facilitator.
A committed community leader, she serves on the Loan Review Committee of Rise, is Chair of Bridgeway Academy, represents the Southeastern Community Health Board, co-chairs the IDEA Committee of HFX Wanderers FC, sits on the Women in Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (WISPAR) Community of Practice, and is an ASIST Trainer.
Through every role, Missy remains deeply rooted in her values of empowerment, equity, and connection, crediting her greatest joys to her husband of 37 years, Stuart, her sons Chris and Daniel, and their families.
