Thushara Premarajan
Thushara Premarajan is an emerging artist based in Atlantic Canada, with a growing passion for poetry, visual art, and dance. She has recently participated in several poetry readings in Halifax, sharing thoughtful and emotional pieces that reflect everyday life and personal experiences.
Currently, she is working on her first children’s book, combining storytelling and imagination to inspire young readers. Her writing aims to connect people across cultures and generations through simple, meaningful language.
As a dancer, Thushara has performed across Atlantic Canada and led dance workshops, blending tradition with storytelling to create spaces where movement speaks powerfully. In 2024, she was part of a dynamic team that presented at the Atlantic Arts Symposium in Moncton, New Brunswick, where they led a thought-provoking discussion on “Outside Perspective: How to Centre BIPOC Voices in New Brunswick.” The conversation sparked powerful ideas around equity and representation in the arts, and Thushara is grateful to have contributed alongside a passionate team and an audience committed to inclusivity. She will also be presenting at the Healthy Dancer Canada Conference in 2025.
Curious and creative, Thushara brings warmth and optimism to everything she does. As she continues to grow as an artist, she hopes to encourage others to explore their own creative paths.
