Ingrid Deon

Ingrid Deon is the Founder and CEO of word-craft, an award-winning social media marketing

agency based in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. With over a decade of experience in digital marketing

and journalism, Ingrid has become a sought-after speaker on social media strategy, content

creation and authentic community building. Her agency has worked with major brands including

KitKat, Manulife Bank, Häagen-Dazs, RBC Wealth Management and Kraft Dinner.

But Ingrid's expertise goes beyond digital marketing. Twelve years ago, she was a single mother

working three jobs while living below the poverty line. That journey from struggle to success has

shaped her approach to business, resilience and leadership and she now shares this story

through keynotes and panels on entrepreneurship, overcoming adversity, rural economic

development and women's leadership. Ingrid is passionate about creating opportunities for

others, particularly in rural communities where jobs in marketing are scarce.

Ingrid was a Finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award in 2024. word-craft has won the

Provincial Spotlight Award at Digital Nova Scotia's Tech Forward Awards and the Rising Star

Award at the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce Awards. She holds a Bachelor of

Journalism (Honours) from the University of King's College and has served on numerous boards

including Digital Nova Scotia and the Conseil acadien de Par-en-Bas, where she currently serves as President.
