Roslyn Kennery
Roslyn (she/her) helps organizations tell bold, human stories that shift public opinion and spark real-world impact. As a proud trans woman, seasoned communicator, and agency leader, she works with nonprofits, Indigenous organizations, and community groups across the country to shape narratives, shift public opinion, and spark action.
Roslyn brings two decades of experience in political advocacy and media relations. She teaches university courses in public relations writing and public speaking, and regularly leads workshops on strategic communications, inclusive messaging, and crisis response. A writer and media commentator, her talks combine clarity, compassion, and a no-nonsense understanding of what actually works.
She also has experience as a stand-up comic and improv performer — skills that bring warmth, humour, and agility to every stage she’s on.
Roslyn is available for keynote speeches, workshops, or panels, and speaks most often on topics including:
● Leadership and communication under pressure
● Trans rights, healthcare, and the power of lived experience
● Advocacy campaigns that actually change things
● Media relations and social media in a rapidly changing world
Roslyn lives in Halifax with her two kids.
She is a former senior advisor to the Mayor of Ottawa, and is currently a Vice President at Emdash, a creative agency that helps good people be heard.
