Terri M. Roberts
Terri has been an educator & speaker for over 20 years. She is the creator of The Pink Dumbbell Problem (PDP), a YouTube channel base on her master's thesis of the same name. The PDP is focused on fitness, feminism, & philosophy. Terri is the first researcher to combine feminist theory and agnotology -the study of ignorance - with fitness instruction pedagogy. As the survivor of a crash caused by an impaired driver she also presents on her journey back to physical wellness.
She is the former Executive Director of the NSFA, where she also served as a course conductor, writer & editor of course manuals, and board member of Fitness Leadership Canada.
Terri is the recipient of numerous awards for education & leadership including the MSVU Alumnae Legacy Award for business leadership in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal for services to education. She is one of a few fitness leaders across the country who has survived a car crash, so she volunteers with MADD Canada (Halifax Regional Chapter) and often speaks on the aftermath of the experience and how her fitness training contributed to healing her injuries.
On the side, she is also a published author of language learning books in Celtic languages. She often presents her books in schools and teacher training sessions.
