Cameron Gannon
Cameron speaks about men's mental health, and about challenges in holding everything together while someone he loves is in a fight for their life.
He tells his own story. When the crisis hit his family, Cameron did what a lot of men do. He kept the family business running, house sat, dog sat, and told everyone he was doing fine, from 2,000 kilometres away. It changed the day he stopped trying to manage it from a distance and got on the plane.
Long before that, Cameron was the sibling whose needs often took up less space because someone else in the family needed more. There's a term for it, glass child, the kid who you see straight through to the one who needs the attention. Many men experience this when they’re young and never call it anything.
Cameron placed second in the 2026 District 45 Toastmasters Table Topics contest, the district-level impromptu speaking competition. His day job is Wealth Coach at Magnify Wealth in Halifax. He has led financial education sessions on saving and on keeping what you've earned, for owners of small businesses and other community groups. Based in the Halifax area, he travels across Atlantic Canada.
Cameron speaks on:
What stepping up in a crisis costs the one who can’t just be there in presence
Glass children, and the guilt you can carry when exploring it
What saying "I'm fine" does to a man and the people around him
Financial education for business owners, workplaces, and community groups
