Joe Doiron
Joe A. Doiron is an independent policy strategist in population health and physical activity, keynote speaker, author, and community activator with over 30 years of experience advising governments, not-for-profits, and social enterprises on healthy public policy rooted in the social determinants of health.
He is the creator and founder of Active Kids Adventures, a primary prevention intervention blending imaginative stories, music, and movement to build literacy, leadership, and fundamental movement skills in young children through play-based learning.
Joe led the landmark multi-sectoral process that produced Let's Get Moving: A Common Vision for Increasing Physical Activity and Reducing Sedentary Living in Canada — the country's first national policy framework for population physical activity.
His contributions to public health have been recognized with the Chief Public Health Officer's Medal, awarded by Dr. Theresa Tam. This recognition highlights Joe's dedication to promoting healthy living for Canadians guided by principles of community values, ethics, respect, engagement, transparency, honesty, integrity, expertise, and excellence.
